We're excited to kick off Round 1 of the English Cup against FC Twenty11 — now officially taking place at English Park. With current and forecasted weather conditions, along with the pitch state at The Nest, moving the game was the right call.
This match is about closing out a double-header weekend with maximum results. It also brings back memories of last year's nail-biting cup tie against Western AFC, where the Hawks were narrowly eliminated in this very round — a result that remains fresh in our players’ minds and one we’re determined not to repeat.
FC Twenty11 have spent the last two seasons in the Southern League, and with some of our new recruits familiar with the club and its environment, those connections will be key in tomorrow's clash. This game represents not only a strong starting point in the cup but also a chance for our new coaching staff and players with ties to FC Twenty11 to make a statement.
A huge thank you to all our supporters who turned up for Friday’s match — it was an entertaining encounter, and we’re proud to have handled business at home.
Hawks don’t hope — they hunt.
